The reusable mug’s the new car bumper. I just added a new sticker — Bring Your Own! — to my stainless steel cup.
The sticker comes courtesy of Anna, founder of Bring Your Own. It’s a movement: bring your own damn bag or cup :) Not only do you save the planet, you’ll save some money too.
For bringing your own cup, most coffee chains give you a dime back (though sometimes the baristas forget, so you have to ask for it nicely) — Urth Caffe gives you a quarter!
And a lot of grocery chains also give you perks, from taking a dime off your purchase (most big chains) to letting you donate money to charity (Wild Oats) to entering you into a drawing for a $25 gift certificate (Trader Joe’s).
I got my cute stuff at Reusable Bags, but right now you can get a FREE socio-eco friendly canvas bag from Co-op America by joining their Adopt-A-Supermarket campaign :)
Pics of my byo cup’s evolution throughout post :) I even have my byo chopsticks now, for sushi nights –
Update, 7/8/06: A new mug shot here.

I posted a link to a link to a beverage cup review thing I posted once. On the Zyliss cup I use.
Check it.
