I agree that simple's not always less effective -- but it was for me in Brittanie Thyme's case. Glad it worked out for you though :)

I have used the Brittanie's Thyme Organic Citrus Facial Cleanser and am very pleased with it. Because it's made with all organic ingredients and no parabens it is more liquid than cream. But it gently cleanses your skin leaving it soft and not dried out like soap-based cleansers often do. With respect to the oatmeal & almond face scrub, I find it re-assuring that the ingredients reflect the labelling, rather than containing just a trace amount of the advertised ingredients. One is always free to make your own concoctions, and simple is not always less effective.

I highly recommend Arcona's <a href="http://greenlagirl.com/2008/10/20/arcona-my-favorite-eco-friendly-skin-care-line/" rel="nofollow">cranberry gommage</a>. If you like apricot, Jason's scrubble's also a good option :)

I *guess* it may be useful for those with sensitive skin who can't tolerate a daily scrub and only wants occasional exfoliation, but like you said, it'd be much cheaper to grind up one's oatmeal & almonds.

My own not-so-eco-friendly face wash is about to run out, and I'm definitely looking into greener options for the next bottle. Would love to hear your recs!
