Buy blue baby — and save $130.10 while you’re at it

staticlogo 125x125 Buy blue baby and save $130.10 while youre at itWhether you still haven’t gotten over or have grown resigned to dubya’s “reelection,” Buy Blue can give you a lil pick me up. No, it’s not an Amex commercial — It’s a blog/website that rates companies based on their blueness, as opposed to republican let’s kill pro-choicers and go to war-ness.

When I logged on to Progressive, the only auto insurance company that 100% endorses progressive liberal ideas and supports Howard Dean, I really thought I’d have to pay more for my social-n-political consciousness.

I’d actually switched to AIG, the insurance I had until yesterday, about 5 months ago because they offered lower rates, and I was trying to save money for the more important stuff, like wine and plane tickets. Now I feel like I’ve been swindled this whole time: AIG cost $814 for six months; Progressive costs $683.90. This is for exactly the same insurance: 15,000/30,000/5,000, plus 15,000/30,000 for uninsured motorist, and Collision and Comprehensive with a $1000 deductible.

All my friends never seem to have enough money, so really, this is incentive enough to check it out.

And with the money left over, let’s do happy hour. Or really good sushi, if you save a lot. Or if you wanna do a potluck and drink at home, we can donate it to the blue party — Nader if we feel optimistic.
