Surfas, the self-described chef’s paradise, now has its own cafe, with outdoor and indoor sitting, yummy-looking organic pastries, and a lunch menu.
Right now, they’re brewing Danesi coffee, but I talked to one of the employees who told me that plans are underway to change it to the organic, fair trade Monkey & Son Coffee :)
They’re sadly out of the Monkey & Son Coffee right now, but they should have it back in in a couple weeks, I was told.
Other fair trade products: Rishi Tea and Green & Black’s organic cocoa.
BTW — Surfas itself has moved a lil, just around the corner from National to Washington.
Cafe Surfas. 8777 W. Washington Blvd. Culver City. 310.558.1458.

Monkey & Son are back!!, both in the store and cafe.

Hey Green Girl, I know you gave some props to surfas in the past…..look below the surface….they are enviromental criminals….their “recycling bins” are a sham, everything goes into the same trash container….foie gras, they proudly sell it….their chef clothing is produced in sweat shops in Pakistian….they have no recycling plans in place anywhere, their new warehouse was built wil a plan towards $$$$, not the enviroment.
