A quick Cali enviro news roundup, cuz there’s so much good news for once!
- Californians are pumping less gas, opting for bus, rail, and carpools.
- The ports of LA and Long Beach have a plan to clean up all the diesel trucks, slashing diesel pollution from trucks by 80% in 5 years.
- San Bernardino county’s pushed to clean up its act — cuz it’s gotten sued by the state for a growth plan that “fails to adequately assess the effects of increased greenhouse gas emissions and other pollutants.”
- San Francisco bans styrofoam, emulating the beautiful city of Santa Monica :)

The graphics that accompanied the less gas article were a bit poor: What would have been a nice graph would have been showing the changes in consumption per driver and per auto. Alas, too many reporters are innumerate and don’t have the basic thinking skills necessary to do that.
