- The farmers kicked out of the South Central farm are now at the Stanford/Avalon Farm on land owned by the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power.
- Early indicators of a participatory earthquake in the making. A quick & dirty review of all those cool and worldchanging ideas, like open source, open access, metaverse, sousveillance, etc. etc.
- Poor palms! The LA City Council’s voted to opt for shadier, more enviro-friendly trees. It seems like a smart move. I’ll miss the palm trees though –
- Entertainment isn’t cheap. A UCLA study finds that the film and TV industry emits 140,000 tons a year of ozone and diesel particulate pollutant emissions.
