Update, 9/8/07: Beverly Hills Police meet with cyclers.

Used bikes–pretty much all we ride. My husband is an avid and competitive cyclist, so we have quite a few. But he buys the frames and most of the components on eBay, with the result that he gets exactly what he wants for a fraction of the price at a local bike store. It may not be the newest and snazziest, but that’s not what we’re after.

With Bikerowave and the Bicycle Kitchen, it’s easier than ever for would-be bikers in the LA-area to DIY their way to an inexpensive refurbished bike :)

very happy about the silver lake DASH service, even though i’m not in the neighborhood anymore. it really needs to be easier to get around the reservoir without a car.

I’ll second the recommendation for Bikerowave. Those guys and gals rock. They helped me put together my xtracycle (http://www.xtracycle.com/) on a used bike I bought outside Trader Joe’s. Fun to do the work yourself (with expert guidance) and definitely worth supporting.
