- 15 green movies Grist recommends. I’ve seen 5. You?
- Burbank gets a Simpsons-style Kwik-E-Mart. My fave Simpsons character: Lisa. She reads. (Photo by Elise Thompson for LAist )
- Fireworks: Not all that terrible for the environment, if we’re talking once a year, according to Umbra.

When it comes to nature docs, I’m all over them like a weho tweaker on a ball of crystal.
Of those movies, I’ve seen 4.
That said, I was unimpressed with Winged Migration. It was very pretty, but not so educational. There wasn’t much content, and so staged that I never felt I could trust what I was observing.
I’d put Chinatown WAY higher, especially for us Angelenos. It’s a damn good movie! The environmental message wasn’t front and center, but that perhaps makes it so much stronger.
I’m going to add Inconvenient Truth, Erin Brokovich, Syriana and Soylent Green to my Netflix.

I’ve seen 4, but 3 of the 4 runners up. I have China Syndrome and Who Killed the Electric Car in my netflix queue.

I’ve seen 8 of the mentioned movies.
I also agree on Winged Migration being lackluster. The group that did that also did Microcosmos http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0117040/ which I enjoyed much more.
