>> EPA dude quits Bush, finds Obama. Jason Burnett resigns from his post as associate deputy administrator for the EPA and starts campaigning for Obama “after concluding there was no more progress to be made on greenhouse gases under the Bush administration,” which keeps avoiding issues. Scary quote: “‘Investing thousands of hours and millions of dollars certainly does not suggest avoiding the issue,’ [EPA spokesman Jonathan] Shradar said.” I take that to mean the Bush admin’s wasted millions of tax dollars avoiding the issue.

>> Cali air board gets a plan. California Air Resources Board’s got a new “bold plan to slash greenhouse gas emissions that would alter the way utilities generate electricity, automakers build cars and developers construct buildings, and launch the nation’s broadest market in carbon-credit trading.”

>> But California still needs to go further, says the chairman of the United Nations’ Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change.
