>> Create parks in the oceans by advocating for Marine Protected Areas along the SoCal coast. After all, all the celebs — from Pierce Brosnan to Amy Start — are doing it. The next Blue Ribbon Task Force Meeting happens Oct. 21, at 1:30 pm – 4:30 pm and at 7 pm – 10 pm at Hilton Long Beach & Executive Meeting Center, 701 W. Ocean Blvd., Long Beach.

>> Protect the Atlantic bluefin tuna. That’s what Joshua Reichert, managing director of the Pew Environment Group, urges. “Commercial overfishing has slashed the population of this ocean giant off the U.S by more than 82%. The Obama administration should list it as endangered to give the species a chance to recover.”
