- Frankensky: Will going eco mean bye-bye to pretty sunsets? Some pollutants do make the sunset redder, but “excess pollution will also dampen the overall sunset experience.”
- Frankenfoods: Cornell’s food science department puts together technified, super-processed foods with the help of industry money and government grants. A project to manipulate the chemistry of mozzarella “is funded both by private companies and government grants–in this case, a federal program through which dairy farmers contribute to advertising and research. Such work could lead to a Cornell patent on the technology and either an exclusive licensing arrangement with a company or a low-cost license available to all.” (via 3qd)
- Frankenfelt: A buck gets you into Felt Club: XL Summer where you can ogle and shop for DIY wares from 70+ crafters. There’ll be music, there’ll be door prizes, there’ll be classes, and there’ll be snacks and sweets from Auntie Em’s Kitchen. It all goes down this Sunday, July 15, 11 am – 7 pm at UCC, 4315 Melrose Ave., Los Angeles. And yes, I realize I’m taking the franken- thing too far. (via blogging.la)
