- The 5-day weekend still not enough free time for ya? Try The Four-Hour Work Week, written by Timothy Ferriss. I haven’t read it yet, but might browse through it the next time I’m in the library –
- Life outside the cubicle: What all those people on the streets and coffee shops in the middle of the day’re doing. I’m one of these people, and I too wonder why the cafes are so crowded at 3 pm on Wednesday. (via kottke)
- Figure out how much you’re REALLY making, with this detailed post that lets you calculate your real hourly wage, accounting for time spent on commute, money spent on gas, etc. The exercise is similar to the one in Your Money or Your Life, which I wrote ’bout here. - California urges the EPA to get off its ass and let the state set its own limits on auto emissions. The EPA’s now delayed California’s application for a waiver that would allow it to go beyond federal standards on vehicle emissions for 16 months.

Just to save you a bit of time, the Four Hour Work Week isn’t at the Santa Monica or L.A. libraries (as in not in the collection, not as in currently checked out). Kind of a bummer.
