Clicklist: Meat and milk

>> Lawsuit questioning Taco Bell’s beef is dropped. It was funny while it lasted. The lawsuit that claimed Taco Bell’s meat was only actually 35 percent beef has now been withdrawn.

>> But now comes an even grosser news that might wean you off mystery meats: Meat widely contaminated with resistant bacteria. In case you missed it: “Nearly half of all meat and poultry sampled in a new study contained drug-resistant strains of Staphylococcus aureus, the type of bacteria that most commonly causes staph infections.” Gross!

>> If that news reminds you that conventional milk can be pus and blood tainted, here’s some good news: Jamie Oliver helps get L.A. schools to ax flavored milk. Reports NPR: “Chocolate and strawberry-flavored milk has as much sugar as a can of soda — and kids drink a lot of it at school through government-subsidized school lunch programs.” Even better would be if all school milk were organic, but I guess it’s one step at a time –
