>> Update on BPA. A Cali bill to ban BPA from use in bottles or cups designed for children 3 and younger got voted down. Earlier: FDA says BPA’s ok; enviros disagree.
>> Update on rBGH. With Starbucks, Kroger’s, and other companies saying no to artificial bovine growth hormone, Monsanto put its rBGH biz on the market — and found a buyer: Eli Lilly. New uses for rBGH are still being discovered: “Turns out that feeding genetically modified cow hormones to fish makes them grow really big, really fast”
Update, 5/11/09: States start banning BPA in baby bottles.
