It’s not too late to get in on the LA Auto Show ticket drawing!
>> Autopia reports from the L.A. Auto Show: “The industry has finally realized it has to start producing cleaner, greener vehicles if it is to not only survive, but thrive in an era of volatile fuel prices and tightening fuel economy and emissions standards.”
>> Among the new cars unveiled at the show is BMW’s electric mini-E, which 500 “lucky” people will get to lease for a whopping $850 a month. “Leasing the Mini-E is little more than a real-world R&D program for BMW, which says it will use real-world drivers to further develop the EV with an eye toward production.”

>> Universal Studios Hollywood got a solar powered golf cart yesterday to use for employee transportation. The electric cart, made by Cruise Car company, can also be plugged in to charge up when it’s not sunny out.
>> Unrelatedly, here’s a review of five greenish iPhone apps. Relatedly, here’s a webmonkey article on how to turn your site into an iPhone app. I thought of trying it but was discouraged by acronyms I didn’t know in sentences like this one: “You’ll still need to download the SDK and write your app in Apple’s XCode.” Huh?

“You’ll still need to download the SDK and write your app in Apple’s XCode.”
Translation: Download a bunch of software and install it on your Macintosh before beginning this process.

SDK is short for software developer kit. Unrelated but I more commonly use SDK in my line of work to mean set driven key in computer animation.
