It’s tough to “clear the exceptionally tall technological, financial and bureaucratic hurdles set out in Appendix G of the California plumbing code, which went into effect in 1992 at the tail end of a five-year drought.”

>> The “greenest museum” is now open. The California Academy of Sciences in San Francisco’s got a “living green roof with native plants, insulation made from recycled blue jeans and a large canopy of solar energy panels.”
