- H&M to get more organic clothes next month. Apparantly, the colors are “vegetable-dye-inspired” — Not sure what the dyes are actually made of…
- Downtown peeps are rich and educated — and rarely take public transit. “In Downtown Los Angeles, the transportation hub of the city, 61.4% of its residents very rarely or never use public transportation.”
- Tires don’t make good reefs. The tire reef off Florida has just become rubbery pollution.
- Even fom an economic standpoint, planting genetically modified crops is a bad, bad idea. Californian rice farmers’re unhappy outdoor planting of GM rice will kill export demand.

While I like the idea of more widely available organic clothing, the “disposable” nature of H&Ms poorly constructed threads probably won’t make me shop there. (I don’t necessarily buy organic clothes, but I buy stuff I can wash and wear until it falls apart … in five years.)

You know I’ve heard about this “disposable” issue with H&M before — and if H&M is indeed doing what Forever 21 is doing (making clothes a super-disposable commodity), it’s certainly a huge problem.
Oddly, the only H&M thing I own is a black wool winter coat that I’ve owned for like 4 years now — which I really like b/c it’s a good classic cut and long-lasting to boot. But I don’t go to H&M often, so I don’t really know what most of their products are like these days….
