>> The most anal retentive eco-tip yet: Design square toilet paper rolls so users pull off less paper. “A tug is met with resistance as a roll’s squared corner encounters the edge of the metal dispenser.” (via Treehugger) Earlier: The eco-friendly way to hang your toilet paper.

>> Mini-cows mean more meat and milk — and more grass feeding too. Apparently, farmers are getting lilliputian cows during this economic downturn. “In the last few years, ranchers across the country have been snapping up mini Hereford and Angus calves that fit in a person’s lap…. The minicows have been a perfect fit with another trend in farm efficiency — the move to ranchettes, smaller operations run by families or small groups of workers.” (Thanks for the tip, Roz!)
