Xmas lights should be a dilemma for the environmentally conscious. usually one are told to turn off the lights when one not are at home. but then WHAM at Xmas – 1000 light bulbs everywhere turned on all the time. kind of destroys all the savings one might have achieved during the year…
LEDs for decoration sounds to be a good idea though!

Didn’t people used to string up garlands of popcorn and cranberry? That’s a low-energy alternative! And (if you swing that way) you can compost them later!

By the way, I checked out the DWP show. It was otherworldly. Quite a bit of DWP propaganda, to be sure, with a stunning tribute to William Mulholland and the California Aqueduct.
