>> Natural corks are more eco wine-toppers than plastic corks and screw caps. Here are my instructions on recycling both natural and plastic corks.

>> Hybrid taxis are getting more props in Burbank. Once-skeptical cabbies say both they and their passengers like the fuel-efficient taxis.

>> This Tomatomania dude grows more tomatoes in his backyard than you do, unless you harvested more than 10,990 tomatoes last year. But where exactly is Winnetka?

  1. Winnetka is somewhere in the west valley, you know, the part of the valley where neither you nor anyone that you know ever goes.

  2. With all of those phd skills you can’t use a mapping program so you don’t have to sound like an a$$, once again, when referring to the Valley? I honestly don’t understand your problem.

  3. A little sensitive about living in the valley, are we? The fact that lots of Angelenos don’t care to know much about the valley doesn’t make all of us asses. It just means the valley isn’t a v. popular destination. Get over it.

  4. Almost 11,000 tomatoes! That should be enough to sustain himself for at least a year. I’d like to have a garden that big, but my backyard could barely fit 10 plants.

  5. Forgive me for my confusion about the scope of this blog. I though it was the Green LA Girl blog, which would include the areas such as the San Fernando Valley, home to 2 million LA residents, and not the Green Santa Monica Girl Blog.

  6. Anon — Could you be “John Callendar” or one of his alter egos?
