  1. Ya, I forget who I voted for (Green or Peace & Freedom), but I had no intention of voting for Diane after her pander on the flag burning thing. The power company thing just makes me glad I voted against her.

  2. In the primaries, I wrote in Barbara Lee.

  3. I also didn’t support Feinstein for the main reason that she’s one of the biggest Republicans in Democrat’s clothing in Congress. Her positions on the environment are terrible. This argument “Their thinking is to have a level playing field throughout the United States so that this thing can work easily across boundaries,” by Feinstein simply echoes one of the most effective ways to kill prorgressive California legislation…More justification for secession? ;-) And there’s also the dirty fact that California gets a huge amount of electricity from out of state, most of it coming from highly inefficient and costly coal megaplants. I haven’t had the time go over the two proposals in detail but I don’t have a good feeling about Feinstein’s.

  4. Todd Chretien was DiFi’s Green opponent in November and I was very pleased to vote for him and NOT for DiFi. In fact, DiFi (and the stances like this that she takes despite the fact that she represents one of the most progressive states in the union) is a very big part of the reason that I no longer am registered Democrat. Not to start a larger argument, of course…

  5. THANK YOU!

I’ve been searching the eco-blogosphere for SOMEONE who would call out DiFi on this bullshit. Of course, I posted a wee something calling her out (and Obama) for her position – clearly she’s looking to put together a national position that will allow her to tout herself as the great “Eco Warrior” of D.C.. Does it matter that this national legislation will be weak? Nah. DiFi wants to be Prez one day. Her eye is on the prize, not what’s good for her constituents. Another bad apple among the Democrats. Very disturbing. Fortunately, Pelosi had some good news on the same day. Yeah, I’ll make you look at my site if you don’t know already because this post is getting too long.

Moving to Santa Monica in a few short weeks. LA is going to suck my soul, right? Frankly, I’m scared!

  6. I too voted for Todd Chretien. DiFi is such a DINO (dem in name only).

I do, however, remain a registered dem — though I attend many open LA Greens meetings and occasionaly vote for the green candidate. At this time, I still feel that I can make more diff as an individual by working to make the Dems more progressive than by joining the greens. It also helps that, in general, I heart Boxer and Waxman, both of whom I voted for.

Todd Brilliant — You’re really moving to Santa Monica? Welcome! Prepare for the soul sucking! But rest assured it won’t be as bad in SM as it is in, say, Silverlake, these days, with all those hipster kids in their faux 70s logo Ts. Get a bike, and you’ll feel your soul grow back….

  7. Dianne Feinstein’s also married to Richard Blum, who owns 75 percent of a major Iraq War profiteering firm, Perini.
