• Another reason we need rail in addition to buses: If the Red Line didn’t run, we’d have about 2,700 more buses (assuming 50 passengers per bus) on the road on a given weekday. Plus, “Although the cost of building rail is far higher than buying new buses, the cost of operating rail is cheaper.”
