>> Make some music already. “Few of us sing—especially not in front of each other—because we know of so many who can do it better…. Besides, why waste our time making admittedly mediocre music or art when we can just plop on the couch, watch TV and eat potato chips?”
>> Check out beer, on bikes. Hot Knives is hosting a bike tour of the best beer strores: 5 beer stores (with discounts!), 40+ miles in northeast LA. (via blogging.la)
>> Judge sez no to Navy sonar testing that’d harm marine life. A win for the National Resources Defense Council, but the fights not over; the navy’s expected to take the fight to the U.S. 9th Circuit Court of Appeals. NRDC’s looking for a receptionist in Santa Monica, BTW.
Update, 9/1/07: Now a federal appeals court in San Francisco has given the U.S. Navy a temporary go-ahead with the sonar testing, though luckily, that’s not the final say. Now, another 9th Circuit panel will hear more arguments to decide the matter on Nov. 5 in Pasadena.
Update, 8/14/08: The latest on the sonar issue.

I presume you are not drinking and cycling. It is highly irresponsible and illegal. California law

You made this same downer comment last time booze was mentioned in conjunction with biking. Anyway — this ride has a ‘keep it bottled till the finish line’ policy.

Drink driving/cycling/motorcycling is very serious and causes thousands of deaths a year. It is not something to be dismissed lightly. Also the site you mentioned had no reference to “keep it bottled till the finish line’ policy.”

It’s mentioned as a comment on the LAist site as a comment. Looked into it just for you, not that you’re anywhere close to LA.

In my defense the no drinking comment was posted an hour after I posted my comment on your blog. So unless I could time travel there was no way I could have known that. And I just because I am not near LA does not mean I can’t comment on possible dangerous behavior.

I didn’t say you needed to’ve known all the details. I’m simply pointing out that your comments’re generally both repetitive and negative, which gets really fucking annoying.
