Well, i am working with women in prostitution. Trafficking in human being is something that we have to face, and immigration is surely the solution for many. It is also maybe necessary to give the victims something if we want to catch the traffickers. In Norway women in prostitution are increasing, specially from abroad (Nigeria, Thailand, east europe..)
But now about coffee. I met my sisters mother in law, some weeks ago. My sister (from Norway) married her man from Colombia. And i took this picture of her mother in law. Just her hands, - because she had worked on a coffee-plantation many, many years ago. There is history in these hands! http://helgeaarsvoll.blogspot.com/2006/07/drinking-coffee.html#links

Sadly the scapegoating of the immigrants themselves continues... in both our countries.... I really am hoping, though, that a lot of the promising activism we see around immigration we're seeing of late will lead to some real changes in policy.

I agree with you completely. Immigration is a huge topic also for the next year presidential election in France. Many illegal immigrants from Africa (Mali, Nigeria etc.) prefer to die on French soil than to return to their homeland, they say. This has been a heated topic from one candidate to the next, and also amongst the residents and citizens of France. Most of the time is due to what you're mentioning in this post...:-|
