Did you hold Hands Across the Sand on Saturday?

Did you hold hands with your neighbors and eco-activists at Hands Across the Sand over the weekend?

Hands Across the Sand events happened across the world last Saturday, when people gathered for an hour to make a peaceful statement to oppose offshore drilling and call for clean energy solutions. I was at the gathering just north of Santa Monica Pier, where Los Angeles City Councilmember Bill Rosendahl (above, second from left), GREEN LA Institute director Jonathan Parfrey, Heal the Bay, Surfrider Foundation, Santa Monica Baykeepers, Environment California, and about a couple hundred activists came out to hear rousing anti-offshore drilling speeches — before joining hands at noon and yelling “Clean Energy Now!”

More about the event later, but for now, I’m wondering — Did you go to a Hands Across the Sand gathering? What happened at your hand-holding event?
