I have very long, thick hair and finding a conditioner that works for my hair and doesn’t have any ingredients that worry me can be a trick. I think I may have found my solution in Made from Earth’s Peppermint Conditioner. It leaves my hair soft and easily combable without a greasy coating. It has a pleasant scent that is only barely noticeable once my hair has dried. Made from Earth’s Conditioner has a very smooth feel to it and is easy to apply. I like to get it on my hair (heavy on the ends, light at the roots) then put my hair up in a bun and keep the conditioner in for ten to fifteen minutes and then rinse it out with the coldest water I can stand. Doing that leaves my hair incredibly silky, smooth and shiny. I appreciate that Made from Earth’s is a company dedicated to helping preserve the environment and not exposing their customers to potentially harmful ingredients.

Since this article was written (in which my blog was mentioned), I’ve actually started a little web store where I sell only products I believe in. I agree with the comments about the Dr Bronner hair rinse and for that reason, I don’t sell it in my store.

However, I find that the Shikakai hand soap is wonderful both as a general hand and body soap, but also as a shampoo. It is milder than the traditional Dr Bronner soap, but if you have dry hair, it’s possible you could find it to be too drying.

Dr. Bronner’s Organic Hair Rinse is one of the strangest products I’ve ever encountered. I wasn’t sure that I even wanted it in my hair after I poured a capful into a cup and saw how brown it was. It seems to detangle my hair fairly well, but unless I use it exclusively on my ends it does seem to make my hair feel not-quite-clean. I’m going to try to use the entire bottle because I hate to waste anything. But I have to be really careful to close my eyes while pouring the rinse on my hair. Otherwise the lemon stings my eyes. Have you tried Burt’s Bees Raspberry Moisture conditioner? I just picked it up, and like it a lot better than Dr. Bronner’s.

I picked up some of the Dr. Bronner’s conditioning/styling cream at a local store, and it’s decent. It’s not a very strong styling product, but it seems like a nice conditioner.

I also just picked up a new partially organic shampoo from Desert Essence. I haven’t tried it yet, but it smells amazing.
