It’s beautiful when the day is beautiful for an Earth Day event. The sun came out, the wind quieted down to a normal beachy breeze, and the people milled about Third Street Promenade with happy, sunny grins on their faces.

Despite a hangover that seemed to get worse as the day wore on, walking to, around, and from Earth Day on the Promenade made me really happy I live in SoCal.

Earth Day’s actually not until April 22, but Santa Monica held its event early — perhaps to avoid competition from other events, or perhaps to take part in the National Day of Climate Action, which was today, in case you missed it entirely.
