The distinction between slip-ons and casual flats is turning out to be rather arbitrary. Let’s say the slip-ons are more casual than the casual flats, but most of these casual flats might still be too casual for work — though that would depend where you work. Anyway. Eco-flats. Here they are:

Patagonia has a half dozen styles of cute flats to pick from, with green features ranging from sustainably harvested 70% hevea latex outsoles, eco-leather, recycled EVA footbed, and glue-free construction. Cost: $85 – $120.
El naturalista‘s eco-friendly collection changes often, but some form of flats are always available. Eco-features vary by shoe, but include chrome-free leather, natural rubber insoles, and recycled PU footbeds. El Naturalista has its own web store, but it lists prices in Euros and is not user friendly. Browse the boutique shop in Santa Monica, or online at nordstrom.com or Planet Shoes. Prices start around $145.

Terrasoles flats, made with recycled microfiber fleece, come in several different styles. It’s unclear what the soles are made of, however. Cost: $49.95.
Teva is a shoe company with an entire collection of shoes made from post-consumer recycled materials, including post-consumer recycled PET canvas upper and lining and 50% post-consumer recycled rubber outsoles. Cost of these flats: $50.
Any of your faves I missed?
