Emerald City: Condoms unwrapped, etc.

Latest from Emerald City, my enviro-blog at LAtimes.com

>> Oxfam Unwrapped’s green gifts and World AIDS Day. Oxfam UK lets you gift “Rubberly jubberly” condom kits. Oxfam US doesn’t, so it can stick to its “core branding.”

>> Green gift guide: Charitable giving — with benefits. Sometimes, stuff is nice to get as a reward for doing good. Plus, stuff isn’t always bad. Thus, a list of great green causes deserving of your hard-earned dollars — that’ll give you a little useful something for your generosity.

>> Live Earth returns, now as a CD/2-DVD set. My favorite performances? Unexpectedly, Bon Jovi’s “Dead or Alive,” and Madonna’s “La Isla Bonita.” They took me back to way back when — when all my girlfriends knew all the words and the guys started trying to pick up guitar — before we all moved on to Nirvana.

And a couple linky posts:
>> Greenlist: Pale green holiday shopping. Wal-Mart-ing, regifting, etc.
>> Greenlist: New desserts and doubts. Gingerbread houses, now with solar panels
