Don’t bother ponying up extra cash for stuff labeled “natural.” The Chicago Tribune reports that you could be buying meat from cows fed animal byproducts, obesity-causing high fructose corn syrup, or chicken made heavier by injections of broth.

  2. Wait, do you mean that you’ve been able to see evidence of the broth injections in your chicken? (If so, gross!) Not quite sure what you meant by confirmation –

  3. ‘natural’ is/has been purely a marketing term (think about how much stuff you see that says natural and artificial flavors — it’s all chemically-processed), and frankly, after the industrial food lobbyists got their hands into the ‘organic’ market, that too is touchy — but here’s the some info for current U.S. Certifications (which vary from other nations, of course):
