The underwater world right off our beautiful Southern California coast is hidden from most people living in Los Angeles, yet their daily actions determine its health and ultimately its future. The few fortunate divers and underwater photographers who are able to venture into this amazing place, must share their stories and photographs to help others understand and appreciate its beauty and importance.
Unfortunately, the deadline’s coming up really fast — January 10, 2010 — despite the fact that details of the prizes are still TBD. Just know for now the prizes fill be donated by EcoDiveCenter and Patagonia, and start taking photographs.
All are invited to the Underwater Parks Day event happening Sat., Jan. 16 at 2 pm in the Santa Monica Pier Aquarium, 1600 Ocean Front Walk, where the winners will be announced.
