Expo expansion in trouble

Posted by Siel in de-car-ing, losangeles (Friday July 20, 2007 at 12:03 pm)

169059806 4d6ca4311c m Expo expansion in troubleSo our state finally approved proposed a budget — by taking about $1 billion away from mass transit :(

Included in that $1’s the money we’ve been hoping to get to expand the Expo line from Culver City to Santa Monica (aka phase 2 of the project). Sniff :(

It’s a real setback — I wonder what Friends 4 Expo’s next step will be, in light of this sad turn of events –

Update, 8/25/07: The passed budget takes about $1.3 billion away from bus and rail :(

  1. I found a link at CalPIRG to send a message to your assembly member to complain about this.

  2. Call your state senator! It’s already passed the assembly, so it’s up to the senate to stop it.

I think my senator (Lowenthall) is on the right side of this one.
