So our state finally approved proposed a budget — by taking about $1 billion away from mass transit :(
Included in that $1’s the money we’ve been hoping to get to expand the Expo line from Culver City to Santa Monica (aka phase 2 of the project). Sniff :(
It’s a real setback — I wonder what Friends 4 Expo’s next step will be, in light of this sad turn of events –
Update, 8/25/07: The passed budget takes about $1.3 billion away from bus and rail :(

Call your state senator! It’s already passed the assembly, so it’s up to the senate to stop it.
I think my senator (Lowenthall) is on the right side of this one.
