If you wanna be inspired, hanging out with other fair trade advocates from around the world, you might check out these fast-approaching conferences –
United Students for Fair Trade‘s annual convergence. Boston, Mass. February 16-19, 2007.
The goal’s “to engage and inspire students to act for greater social and economic justice and equity around the world”! I went to this conference the last 2 years, but time and money issues’ll be keeping me in LA this year. But I hope lotsa other people will go and be inspired!
If you want to be involved with the planning, contact Christina at christina.c.m@gmail.com or Tawny at tawny_elgatian@yahoo.com. Also — If you’re by any chance a Lutheran college student, Lutheran World Relief’s offering scholarships to attend this conference.
Clean Clothes and Fair Food. Columbia Law School, New York City. April 27-29, 2007.
Dubbed a “Conference to Promote Justice in Factories and Fields,” this conference is organized by SweatFree Communities and the Alliance for Fair Food. Looking for workshop proposals (MSWord)
Check out a few more fair trade and environmentally-oriented opportunities and events here –

I’ll be giving a talk at the convergence called “Car Tires and Chicken Wire or How Feisty Fair Traders Started a Movement” This will be an interactive session involving a timeline that I’d love advance help preparing. Any and all Fair Traders are welcome to post on my blog the who, what, when, and how of key moments in the movement from their perspective. I’ll transfer those to the timeline and display at the convergence. Thanks in advance!
