As full of hyperbole as your comment is, I do agree that there are many other issues -- including preserving species diversity / wilderness -- that are important in the wind farm debates than simple energy issues.

I don't think the farm in the film posed these issues, but in any case, I think you'd be interested in watching this program from KQED’s Climate Watch -- dubbed Unlocking the Grid -- which addresses some of the issues you bring up.

>We see a British woman fight tooth and nail >against a wind farm that’d produce clean energy >— basically because she doesn’t like the >aesthetics of a wind farm. Of course, she >considers herself an environmentalist….

Oh yeah, you GOTTA love those if you are GREEN! No one shall object thou wind farms, even if we ruin all hills and pastures and valuable ecosystems, and build carbon-fiber companies, where employes wear gas masks!

Even if majority of eco, green and scientific circles object them, the energy company is always right, since it own the magic word: GREEN!

It is just a different kind of industry, to extract all possible energy resources and space for our ever increasing demands (and generate NEW POLLUTING INDUSTRIES in some countries!).
