I have officially turned very ugly socks I received as a gift:

Into two pairs of baby booties and a couple mousy cat toys to give away.

Thanks for voting on the color of the flowers for the booties. Excess yarn was used to stuff the mice, making this an almost zero waste craft project. I ran out of blue at the end though, so the orange mouse’s tail’s kinda stumpy. Oopsie.
The pink pair are going to Ginny-Marie Case, who had a baby shower yesterday. Wasn’t able to make it — but the booties will arrive fashionably late in my stead. Anyone else expecting a new baby — or have lonely cats?

These are so cute! I guess I don’t need any booties or cat toys right now though…

I have kitties that would keep the mice company! LOL Those are super cute, I wish I could make things like that for mine.

Very cute! I can vouch for the mice too. My kitties love the one’s Siel made for them awhile back.

I have the thank you cards on order, but I wanted to pass along a big THANK YOU for the booties. Iolani loves them! They are great because our place gets a little chilly at night, and her feet are kept warm.

Our family is getting a new kitten in two weeks time. I would love to knit some little mice like yours, they are gorgeous. I love the cute little bootees too. We have some catnip in the garden so will put some inside the mice if I am lucky enough to find the pattern. Hope you can help. Many Thanks.

Hi Siel. Do you have a pattern for the mice? Would love to make some for Soots and Arya and keep my hands busy so they won’t instead be shoving chocolate into my face.

Thanks for the cuteness props :) Ginny-Marie — Glad you liked the booties!
Lindy and Beth — The pattern is in Stitch & Bitch Nation, which I recommend :)

Great to get your response, but I have no idea what Stitch & Bitch Nation is? I am in New Zealand and have never heard of it. If you could e-mail a copy of the pattern I would be so grateful. Our new kitten is settling in very well & adores things to play with. Many thanks!

Lindy — Do they have Google search in NZ? :P Stitch & Bitch has a website that lists all its books. No, I can’t email a copy of the pattern — That would be against copyright laws. But I’m pretty sure you can purchase a copy of Stitch & Bitch Nation there –
