Learning always seems to come easier for me if there’s wine and chocolate cake involved — which is why I think the Holiday Gloss workshop at Green Beacon‘s gonna be the sweetest place to be this Thursday. At this event you’ll learn how to make your own chapstick using organic garden-grown ingredients — while drinking wine and nibbling on raw chocolate cake from Cru.
When: Thursday, December 4, 6:30 pm
Where: In Elysian Heights. RSVP for exact address.
Cost: $45. RSVP required to contactgbf@gmail.com or 323.717.9636
This lip-smacking workshop’ll be led by the girls from Heart Beet Gardening, who’ll teach you how to “mix, match and label your own recipes which feature beeswax made from a local apiarist and come in four different flavors: mint, citrus, lavender & lemongrass.” And if after you sober up, you find you’ve still retained your balm-making skills, you can continue to concoct your own local, organic, handmade lip balms to give out as eco-holiday gifts this season.
Holiday Gloss is just one of the many eco-chic workshops offered at the Green Beacon, a nonprofit intended “to serve as a community resource for the public to have tactile experiences of going green.” Check out Green Beacon’s events calendar to find out about other cool upcoming workshops.
