Friday Freebies: Arm & Hammer Essentials fabric softener sheets

Posted by Siel in freebies (Sunday January 20, 2008 at 2:51 pm)

A twice-weekly sharing of eco-shwag.

Two days late!

This box of 144 fabric sheets is part of Arm & Hammer’s eco-laundry line, dubbed Essentials. As such, these sheets include biodegradable softeners that aren’t petroleum-based — and come in a recycled paperboard box with 35% post-consumer content.

That said, these are scented fabric softer sheets — “lavender & white linen,” to be specific. And while that scent comes from natural essential oils, I seriously can’t deal with the pungent odor of the stuff. I mean, I haven’t even opened the box, and I still find the smell overpowering!

I’m guessing some of you like scented fabric sheets though, so these are up for grabs. Comment or email by Wednesday to get into the drawing; drawing happens Thursday morning. US addresses only.

  1. Hello! I use dryer sheets with every load of laundry that I dry. Please enter me in your drawing. Thanks,

  2. I’ll go for it. At a friend’s house where I hang a lot with them and their dogs, they have a tremendous problem with white dog hair not coming out after laundering, and someone said the dryer sheets, which I usually don’t use, would help.

  3. Wow it seems like a great product. We are an all natural cleaning company and will love to use and promote this product but unfortunately Arm and Hammer continue to test on Animals…. Please send them mail and email they have to really be all natural…

  4. They sound pretty good to me.

This is my first visit here – I’m sort of wondering if there are ways of becoming a “green” affiliate and wondered if others were doing it somehow like – on sites like yours. I’m a vegan and try and live as greenly as I can so I’ve had thoughts of working on a new type of site that goes into more detail about saving our world – iffen we still can.

Thanks for the contest though, it’s like an added bonus – a bit of hope.

    Peace, love and understanding.

  7. Well YAY! Thank you so much. I’m assuming you have my email address so if you could email me, I could give you my physical snail mail address if that would be okay.

Once again, thank you for being here and thanks for the contest. It’s very much appreciated as is the work you do to maintain this site.

Peace and serenity today to all.
