Friday Freebies: Brita faucet filter and a Nalgene bottle

Posted by Siel in freebies (Friday September 26, 2008 at 10:20 am)

A twice-weekly sharing of eco-shwag.

FilterForGood kindly sent me a bunch of Brita and Nalgene stuff to welcome me as a blogger, but since I’ve been a BYO water bottle girl for a while now, I don’t need most of it.

So: Anyone in the LA area need a Brita Faucet Filtration System? Take it off my hands and I’ll throw in a free Nalgene bottle of your choice — Pick from any of the four pictured below. Yes, all bottles are BPA-free! Go here for details on the size of the bottles.

Comment or email by Sunday to get into the drawing, which’ll happen Monday (more info on freebies here). To reiterate, only LA-area people who can pick up the stuff are eligible — The filter’s too heavy to be worth mailing.

And read my latest on the FilterForGood Blog — on how the Lazy Environmentalist just isn’t lazy enough.

  1. Ooooh, been meaning to get a faucet filter since our pitcher keeps getting algae … and another bottle would be nice to tote the baby’s water when we’re out and about!

Er, am I still eligible? I won a canvas bag a couple of months ago. And I live in OC, but am up in SM every other week or so.

  3. We’re in need of a new faucet filter and we could always use another BPA-free bottle.

  4. I could use a faucet filter … I might even start re-filling the few Brita filters I have left with new charcoal.

  6. This would be a god-send to me. The water here isn’t drinkable. and a bottle I can refill sounds great too!

  7. Yes, I want the filter, please! I actually want to give it to my brother who’s been wanting one for a long time, but can’t afford to buy one (he’s currently in between jobs).

And I live in the city of L.A.!

    I love your website.

  8. Been thinking of ditching the plastic Brita pitcher for a sink or faucet mount version. Already have a Klean Kanteen, but a BPA-free nalgene could replace my old lexan bottles.
Great work on the new blog!

  17. I’ve used one of these faucet filters for years. My dad was a plumber and he got me hooked on using one when they first came out. Don’t enter me in your drawing though, I’m nowhere near LA. :)
I’ve been working at greening up my house though and found some really great tips in Green Goes With Everything. Not sure if you’ve seen it or not, but if you get a chance to take the Body Burden quiz on the website over there, it’s a real eye-opener.

  18. Emily is the lucky winner. Happy filtering everyone –
