A weekly sharing of eco-shwag!

I also have not just one, but 2 DVD copies of Genesis, a film by Claude Nuridsany and Marie Perennou, which I also got via Ironweed. Basically, it’s the story of how life on earth came to be, with some pretty footage of nature, Discovery-channel style.

443016248 76286b1d5b m Friday Freebies: Black Gold and GenesisI’ll be honest and say it didn’t move me; the film didn’t add anything to my basic knowledge of evolution, nor show me anything surprising. That said, the film might be a fun watch, and a nice simple introduction to the cycle of life, for children age 12 and under.

  2. Sad that Genesis was kind of a dud. A lot of these high profile nature docs tend to overdramatize (and therefore obscure and distort) the science.

Did you see the BBC’s Evolution series? Kind of the same thing.

That said, the Planet Earth documentary on right now is a dream come true!!!

  7. Black Gold goes to Tomas — Thanks everyone for yr interest –

No one wants Genesis! I guess saying you didn’t enjoy a movie is not the best way to get people interested in watching it :P
