Friday freebies: Recycled Kapok T-shirt

Posted by Siel in freebies (Sunday January 15, 2012 at 12:08 pm)

Weekly green giveaways.

Today’s giveaway is for the recycling enthusiast! One lucky green LA girl reader will in an all-recycled T-shirt from Kapok!

Kapok‘s a new green clothing company that makes its clothing with 100% recycled materials. Kapok’s T-shirts are made in the U.S. with a blend of recycled cotton and recycled PET from plastic bottles — and printed with graphics printed using water- or soy-based inks. Plus, five percent of all sales are donated to conservation groups — which you can select from a group of three when you shop on Kapok’s website.

Kapok plans to develop more products — like polo shirts, sweatshirts, and board shorts — which will all be made from 100% recycled materials.

But for now, there’s just the T-shirts — and you can win one of them! Comment by Friday, Jan. 20 — specifying the size you’d prefer — to get into the drawing, which’ll happen Saturday, Jan. 21 (more info on freebies here). U.S. addresses only.

  5. Blue is my favorite color! And recycling is my mantra. Would love a Medium size unless this shrinks like 100% cotton after washing, then I’d prefer a Large. Thanks!

  8. Thanks for all of the kind comments–I am the founder of Kapok and appreciate the support–and Siel, thanks so much for picking these as a giveaway! As far as the sizing, the sizes are men’s/unisex but run a little small/fitted–I’d recommend going to the larger size if you’re in between. thanks again everyone.

  10. I’d love a medium, please! This would be my second tee made up of 100% recycled materials. It would compliment it because the one I have is red. Can’t be anymore fitting than that.
