Just got laid off by the LA Times? Got a job, but want a greener one? Then you might want to check out the Green Collar Job Mixer, happening a week from today in Hollywood. Organized by the San Diego and LA chapters of the Eco Investment Club — basically a networking org between green entrepreneurs and investors — the Mixer’s free to job seekers!
When: Wednesday, July 23, 7 pm – 10 pm
Where: Thexposure Studio, 741 N. Cahuenga Blvd., Los Angeles
Cost: Free for job seekers; make sure you RSVP though.
According to EIC’s description: “This event will feature Jan Schalkwijk, Principal of JPS Global Investments and is sponsored by Bright Green Talent, an executive search firm that identifies and places environmental leaders in organizations worldwide.”
I have no idea how big this event will be; EIC looks like it’s composed of and run by 3 people, two from the same green real estate firm. Still, the event’s free — and lotsa people are job hunting either due to need or curiousity — so the mingling should be fun, at least. I’m planning on dropping by for the tail end.

While the Eco Investment Club was indeed founded by (3) Individuals, it has grown to include a large membership in the San Diego area, held a Green Meet in Manhattan, and is evolving into a larger entity centered on education and awareness of Green and Sustainable Companies/Products/Concepts.
Green Products will also be a part of the Hollywood Event on the 23rd.
All are welcome, just RSVP so we know how many to plan for.
Green is good!

EIC has grown into something quite substantial in just a short period of time, from its base in San Diego. Their green meets are drawing ever bigger attendance. Events in SD are just the start, with New York, LA, and soon other cities to follow. Love being a member and look forward to future events!
