Gift 1: A vase for my dissertation committee chair

[Part of my challenge to give something away every day for 29 days, again]

So I look kinda hilar, and you can’t really see her at all cuz I’m covering her, but the woman hooding me in that photo is Susan, my dissertation committee chair.

She encouraged me and advised me and helped me in ways ranging from the academic to the emotional. She even somehow managed to get me a fellowship for my last year at USC, so I could focus on the dissertation without worrying about teaching.

Perhaps unfortunately, I spent that time blogging….

I’m sending her a pretty glass vase, made in the US from 100% reclaimed wine bottle and a reclaimed bed spring and purchased via my friend Summer’s eco-boutique, BTC Elements.
