[Part of my challenge to give something away every day for 29 days, again]

I had a rather stressful time finding an outside member (meaning outside the English department) for my dissertation committee — mainly because I decided to replace the first one, who turned out to be a self-centered jerk that wanted to use my qualifying exams to try and prove how smart he was to the other committee members.

Marjorie stepped in — and was amazing, not only because she was a supportive adviser, but also because she too writes poetry.

I’m sending her a Vintage Record Sleeve Journal, purchased via my friend Summer’s eco-boutique, BTC Elements.

I’ve raved about this journal before — and got lots of compliments on it when I carried it around. It’s now all filled up with my handwriting –
