Back in high school I knew every word to “Glycerine” and thought Gavin Rossdale was hot. Over a decade later, I’m gonna see him perform at the Global Green USA Pre-Oscar party — and you can too!

When: Tues., Feb. 19, 2009
Where: Avalon Hollywood, 1735 Vine St., Los Angeles.
Cost: $125 ($100 is tax deductible) for TWO tickets with the Valentine’s Day deal, which’ll end as soon as 22 more people take advantage of the deal. After that, tickets cost $125 each — More if you’re feeling generous.
Oh, and Sheryl Crow will be performing too. And Orlando Bloom, Penelope Cruz, Kate Bosworth, Rosario Dawson, Heather Graham, and Damien Rice are among the celebrity guests.
The purpose of this party: To celebrate the launch of both Global Green’s National Green Schools initiative and to kick off Global Green’s Red Carpet/Green Cars campaign. The former promotes the greenification of schools, the latter promotes celebrities getting to big events via eco-friendly cars — which doesn’t actually seem like anything new, but Global Green’s calling it a “kick off” nevertheless.
Global Green USA’s the American arm of Green Cross International, and works to mitigate global climate change by creating green buildings and cities. Here are pics and my post from the 2006 event, featuring Liz Phair. See you there!

You didn’t mention my fellow Rainbow bro Neil Patrick Harris!
