Green Bag Lady bags for 20 volunteers at Blogger Beach Cleanup

Sarah Bayles with a Green Lady BagLike your reusable bags to be handmade out of donated and recycled materials? Then be one of the first 70 people to arrive at the Blogger Beach Cleanup on Oct. 24, for a chance to get a FREE cute handmade tote from the Green Bag Lady.  To the right’s Sara Bayles, one of the organizers of Blogger Beach Cleanup, with her own personal Green Bag Lady tote.

Green Bag Lady’s famous for handmaking bags out of donated and recycled materials – then giving them away, FREE, simply in exchange for a promise that the bags will be used in lieu of disposable ones. So far, she’s given out 6705 bags! Check out Green Bag Lady’s blog to find out more about her efforts to encourage reuse — and to get a pattern and to make your own bags!

We already announced that the first 50 volunteers to arrive will get Envirosax totes or FilterForGood bottles, but now we’ve also got 20  Green Bag Lady totes to throw in the mix! Thus, the first 70 volunteers will get either a reusable bottle or a tote, with those who arrive first getting to pick first.

So sign up for the Blogger Beach Cleanup if you haven’t already — and come early to make sure you’re one of the lucky 70 who get a freebie! We’ve also got lots and lots of prizes, and a yummy happy hour at Pourtal.

  1. Well done to you and Daily Ocean. I am so impressed by all the participation that you guys have managed to get! I had to write about your efforts on my blog, and I am thinking about how to organize a clean up day on Lake Erie next spring! Keep up the good work and the inspiration for the rest of us!

  2. Great Work! If you’re in Orange County, we’re doing the same thing in Seal Beach any time from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and you can stay as long or short as you’d like!
