I know you’ve always wondered: What does green LA boy sound like?
Find out via regender, an experiment in web translation that switches genders within texts.
You’ll run into some fascinating stuff, i.e. green LA boy’s musings on tampons: “For tampon boys, that means shopping at Trader Joyce’s.”
Looking at the fable of Adam and Eve through regender’s kinda fun too: “And when the man saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, he took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto his wife with him; and she did eat.”
Fascinating. Try regendering your own blog –

I breifly met the programmer of Regender, Ka-Ping Yee, at Blogher last year. He sat in on a feminism session. It’s a mind-blowing tool, isn’t it? Type in the urls of major newspapers and read away!

This regender thing is great… kind of makes one think, we should just simply remove “He & She” from our vocabulary altogether… and then make all sports coed, so there is no more of this which gender is better, and more macho. An interesting point on gender, history, and the keepers of language (media: bible included), and when knowledge began being dispersed, and rewritten, women were edited right off the planet, and still to this day, many are still trying to edit women right off the planet…
Funny, how things begin to change when a free and independent internet media is provided for us… and how also how old closed circuit controlled thinking begins to fall apart, because people have an option on who they listen to, and converse with… ;)

A lil off topic, but to some, my name appears male — I’ve had a few politicians send me form letters addressed to Mr. Siel –
