>> There seems to be a green film festival every weekend now! Last weekend was Bicycle Film Festival, the weekend before, Downtown Film Festival with a green day of programming. This weekend it’s Blue Planet Film Fest, a “new animal welfare / environmental festival and forum. Check out the film schedule — which includes Blue Gold, reviewed here — then stop by over Labor Day Weekend, Sept. 4 – Sept. 7 at Santa Monica Playhouse, 1211 4th St., Santa Monica. Tickets cost $5.50 – $6.50 per screening or $12 for the opening gala — and each ticket sold plants a tree.
