We — and a bunch of other panelists — will be on two Without a Car in the World panels: “How to Live Car Free or Car Light” and “Walking in LA” on Wed., Nov. 11 from 6 pm – 8 pm at 18th Street Arts Center, 1639 18th St., Santa Monica.

Tree Spiker>> Hear hardcore eco-activist Mike Roselle talk about his new book Tree Spiker: From Earth First! to Lowbagging: My Struggles in Radical Environmental Action! The guy’s a co-founder of Rainforest Action Network, Earth First!, and the Ruckus Society. The free event promises cocktails, good eco-convo with fellow activists, and books for sale and signing at $25 a pop, cash and checks only. Tree Spiker’s co-author Josh Mahan will also be at the event, which happens Sat., Nov. 14 starting at 5 pm at Earthways Foundation, 20178 Rockport Way, Malibu. >> The Green Beacon Foundation’s Fun-raiser will be a garden party with an open bar, organic appetizers and desserts, and a DJ — with a goodie bag and a coupon for a free half-hour massage for every guest. There’ll be raffle and a silent auction too, with all funds going to The Green Beacon Foundation, which seeks to provide environmental living education for Angelenos.
