Green-thinking L.A. business people: The Sustainable Industries Economic Forum‘s finally coming to L.A. The Forum — part of an event series put on by Sustainable Industries magazine — is a half-day event where you’ll get to meet fellow environmentalists and hear from enviro-economist Paul Hawken, author of Ecology of Commerce, as well as Arianna Huffington of The Huffington Post.

When: Jan. 14, 8:30 am – 11:30 am
Where: Sheraton Delfina, 530 Pico Blvd., Santa Monica
Cost: $75 general, $50 student tickets available online.

Hawken, the keynnote speaker for the event, “will address the opportunities created by a triple-bottom-line approach (people, planet, profit) and the frank economic realities of the current business climate,” according to Sustainable Industries‘ announcement. Afterwards, Huffington will moderate a Q&A with Hawken.

Post-Q&A will be a panel lof local business leaders, followed by networking. Sustainable Industries promises a “very tightly focused audience of influential business executives, entrepreneurs, and thought leaders,” but rest assured that the admission to the Forum doesn’t seem to require the sort of vetting that the Eco-Forum event did last month. You simply need to be enough in the know to be aware of the event — and flush enough pay for a ticket.
