How to really see a friend: look hard with an invested interest, over a long period of time. Meaning: The Hockney exhibit’s def. worth checking out.

Titled David Hockney Portraits, the pieces in this exhibit show how Hockney returned to painting the same friends multiple times over the course of their lives. Lots of self-portraits are also included — My fave is Self-portrait with Blue Guitar.

There was a minor incident when I went to see the exhibit last Sunday. A kid threw a coin at a passerby, hitting him in the eye and causing a bit of a stir (pic right)… I think everyone was okay in the end –
